These are the plugs used on most of our juggling balls. They are not glued which can be very useful allowing to adjust the weight of the balls and to re inflate them in case of need (like after a flight during which the difference in pressure and temperature in the aircraft's hold causes a "deflation" of the ball with consequent dents of the surface). |

Once more Play innovates ages before anyone else! The SRX (SOFT RUSSIAN), manufactured by PLAY since 2005, is the first Russian Style Ball on the market that keeps the common features of this kind of ball (dead drop, easy foot/body catches, lightness) while providing a truly unique shell softness. SRX can be partially filled either with very thin quartz sand or millet seeds. The sand provides the typical Russian ball's behavior with a weight concentration in a smaller volume, while the millet seed confers a less dramatic "Russian ball effect" making the ball more versatile and much easier for contact and body rolls. The shell has a MATTE finish on the 67mm and 75mm versions which makes them less "sticky" and therefore more suitable for MULTIPLEX throws, and glossy finish on the 78mm version which makes them look shiny on stage and confers an excellent grip.
SHELL
Our shells are made of 100% Phthalates-free soft PVC. They are available in 5 sizes and 2 different thicknesses for a total of 8 options. Extremely elastic, durable and easy to wash with any type of detergent. When you don't juggle them, we recommend to keep your balls stored in a separate bag since PVC can easily get permanently stained getting in contact with inks as from the pages of a review or pens and markers. SOFT shells are approx. 2 mm thick. As soft as beanbags, they are more forgiving on collisions and tempt to roll much less on the floor. These are the shells used for MMX, SRX, TTS, TT1 and SIL-X Light balls. ELASTIC shells are approx. 4 mm thick. They feel solid, precise and allow to work easier on head and body rolls. These are the shells used for SIL-X and HYBRID balls. SURFACE FINISH 62-67-70-75 mm MATTE (soft touch) 78 mm GLOSSY (ultra grip)
FILLING
The value 1/2 it's just indicative for under-filled balls. The actual amount of filling you will receive it is what we recommend and use in the manufacturing of our most popular juggling balls. It can vary from a minimum of 1/3 to a maximum of 1/2 of the internal shell volume depending on the shell's diameter and thickness. It is digitally weighted with high precision devices for every single ball.

Great juggling balls, GO for it!
Today my orange Russian Type Balls 75 mm filled with Quartz Sand arrived.<br /> After some initial test I think those balls are at least great, maybe awesome, time will tell.<br /> They do have a fantastic grip, and they do have a dead drop (and roll only sometimes around). This is an important criteria for me and one of the reasons I switched to Russians as I didn’t wanted to chase after the balls all the time. <br /> They are not sticky at all, so a release with 3 in one hand is no issue (I had this stickiness-on-release issue with the Sil-X implosions which I tested a while ago).<br /> I can hold 3 in one hand size-wise, they have a nice super soft shell and a nice give. Even triplexes are fine due to the good grip of the balls.<br /> The color is also great – really signal-orange, very visible, love it!<br /> But most importantly – they feel great to juggle. So soft and easy. The weight is just perfect – 110 g. <br /> I would not want less weight, those have a kind of "feeling a bit heavy" during the catches and throws, but are not heavy at all – perfect.<br /> Compared to my DIY Russians they are a bit more stage ball like – they roll a bit more on the floor, flight path is a bit wider – but this is not an issue, just a matter of practice and getting used to it. The feel of the balls during juggling outweigh this by far.<br /> The wobble induced by the combination of shell/filler (Quartz sand) is very little and is related to spin during the throws - so it might also serve as quality control of your throws (should happen without much wrist involvement).<br /> Happy:-)<br />
INNAMORATA DI QUESTE PALLINE!!!
Acquistato le mie prime palline soft russian la scorsa settimana. Amore a prima vista! Volevo delle palline che fossero BELLE da vedere in volo ma che allo stesso tempo fossero comode da afferrare (soprattutto per me che ho le mani abbastanza piccole) e che non rotolassero a terra dopo i drop. Beh, che dire? Le ho acquistate bianche pensando aallo show,.. mi sono totalmente proiettata all'uso di queste palline.. e ieri sera ne ho ordinate altre di un colore un po' più utilizzabile senza troppe paranoie (fuxia).<br /> Insomma, ho trovato ESATTAMENTE quel che mi serviva! <br /> Descrivendole in sintesi direi: morbidose, piacevolissime al tatto, facili per lavori di stop.<br /> Una cosa che non mi fa impazzire è l'effetto così marcato del riempimento di quarzo. L'effetto "onda" spesso è parecchio marcato... ma va bene! È solo da ridimensionare e capire bene come comportarsi

Different But Good
The quality of the balls is very nice. I just received mine and I would say that they are stickier than I thought they would be. Coming from faux leather balls it is quite a difference. I hope that they become less sticky as time passes. It is good to note that these are VERY soft, not just a little soft. It would be helpful to have a video of them being squeezed for future interested buyers. One last thing is that the 100 grams (I bought the 67mm) are in the bottom 1/6th of the ball (roughly) which means they are very very empty. I wasn't expecting this and I wish I would have known before. I am still happy with my balls, but those are the caveats I wish I knew before buying them!
